WIWW #10

You guys…its Wednesday…we are officially in the FINAL COUNTDOWN for the Harry Potter party this weekend!!!  Ahhh!!  I have been working on this for over a month now, I hope it all comes together and everyone has a great time 🙂  Today Im baking butterbeer cookies, yesterday was butterbeer rice krispy treats…but I wont say anymore dont want to spoil it!  Dont worry after the party Ill post plenty of pics, a recap and share recipes.  Dont you worry your pretty little head 🙂

Today’s outfit actually has a sneak peak of the photobooth backdrop for the party.  I mean its all set up, why not take advantage and use the space!  I am also trying to hide the fact that my face is still a little swollen from Friday.  I googled it and apparently its normal so for once the internet didnt say I had cancer.

Sweater: The Limited*

Cami: Express

Skirt: Forever 21*

Shoes: Express (similar)

Earrings: Kendra Scott

Necklace: Handmade by Abby for my wedding!!!  I love handmade things, they are so much more special than anything you can buy at a store.

*So these two pieces are really old and there is no way Im going to find anything similar on the sites, but I still love wearing them and just goes to show some things from Forever 21 can actually hold up!  Granted I did take it to an alterations place to have a lining added because it was too thin and a lot of the sequins have fallen off but other than that its in great shape 🙂

Chime in!!!  Do you have pieces of clothing that are really old but still in great shape and you love to wear?  What are you doing today?  How is your week going?

Creating a Rockin Playlist

I havent gone on a run since Thursday…I still have some lingering issues from getting my wisdom teeth out and I definitely do not want to make the situation worse so no running until I know I can.  With that being said, I have been waiting to share my running playlist for a while and kept pushing it back for other posts.  I figured today would be a great day to share that!

If you have been a runner for a while you know how important a good playlist is.  I have never been one for podcasts or anything like that, I really love music and thats what keeps me moving.  I have built my music library up over the years and keep adding as new music I love comes out.  This list doesnt have links or anything because my brain cant really handle complicated things like links today.

playlist 1playlist 2This is my “sprint” playlist which is mostly high tempo music to keep me going during sprints but I have adopted it for shorter runs.  On my longer runs I have a much longer playlist (I think it has 400 songs) but it has some slower music stuck in there for me to catch my breath and relax the mind.

Now no judging on my choice of music but feel free to add some of these awesome songs to your playlist!  I enjoy a wide variety of music and make no apologies 🙂

My idea behind an awesome playlist is to add music you wouldnt skip if it came on in the car.  Add music that makes you smile, add music that gets your toes tapping and most of all add music that keeps you going.  There is no right or wrong way to make a playlist because everyone is special and different and awesome.  I know a lot of people have rap/hard rock in their playlists and I really just cant get on board with that, but some people hate Glee and I have a bunch of that in mine 🙂

CHIME IN!!!  Do you have an all time favorite song in your playlist?  Are podcasts more your thing?  What are you eating for lunch?

Hogwarts Acceptance Letter Invites

Greetings witches, wizards and muggles!  Today I want to share with you how to make your very own Hogwarts acceptance letter…or in my case party invite!!

In case you havent guessed already I am a big fan of fantasy.  If it doesnt take place in the real world chances are I am a fan.  One of my absolute favorite “fantasy” lands is the Harry Potter universe.  Its so complete you dont have to ask things like “I wonder where they keep their money” or “do they even have a government” that stuff is already answered for you!  With the addition of Pottermore you have access to even more history and amazing information.  All this to say, its easy to do a Harry Potter themed party because dang there is just so much information to work with!

No Harry Potter party is complete without the perfect hogwarts acceptance letter.  Check pinterest and you will find hundreds of templates and links to etsy.  I didnt want a pdf that I couldnt change because I am not a “standard” person.  I cant find the post where I got the original text from but here is what I ended up using (changed to fit what I was doing, the original was for kids but Im doing an adult party)

I used ivory cardstock so the paper already had the off-white look and would be sturdy enough to handle the aging treatment.  You can buy individual sheets from office max and such but I actually found that Michael’s had a smaller pack (50 pages) of better paper and with the 40% coupon they usually have that was the best deal I found.  After I printed all the invitations it was time to age them.  A note on printing.  I was worried the ink would come off and on some of the invitations the ink did come off a little.  Be warned, DO NOT RUB TOO HARD during the aging process this will remove the ink.  Just proceed with caution and you will be fine.

I found this tutorial but changed it up a bit.  I didnt take any pictures sadly but just know this is a bit time consuming.  You can only fit one invitation per cookie sheet and my oven can only fit 2 cookie sheets side by side at a time.  Here is what I did:

  1. Turn oven on to 250F
  2. Prepare a cup of coffee, we have a Keuring which was perfect.  I had Joe save his used K-cups from the weekend before to have coffee grounds on hand.  One k cup is enough for about 7-8 invites.  Open the k cup and remove the coffee grounds either onto a plate, bowl, whatever you want.  You will be grabbing these with your hands so whatever works best.
  3. Place one invitation on a cookie sheet (note, I found that a dark cookie sheet worked better than the really light ones but of course use what you have you will just need to adjust cook times) and pour coffee over invitation.  You want enough coffee to cover the whole invitation but not too much that the invitation is absolutely swimming in coffee.
  4. Pour coffee ground over invitation.  I left some larger patches and sprinkled in other area, do whatever you feel like!  Let this sit for a few minutes to start to dissolve.
  5. Use a papertowel and soak up the extra coffee.  Here is the first caution of dabbing.  Just soak up the liquid coffee, its ok to leave the coffee grounds on the paper, better actually it gives a better aging effect.  If you try and wipe off the coffee grounds you may mess up the lettering.
  6. Place cookie sheets in oven and cook for around 15 minutes.  This time widely varies on how wet the paper is, the color of your cookie sheet, thickness of paper and so on.  Keep and eye on the first batch then you will get a feel for how long the rest will take.  Mine took on average 15 minutes.
  7. Once the paper is dry and seems like it will crack if you touch it remove from oven.  Now you can gently wipe off the coffee grounds.  Again gently, you could still remove the ink.  The grounds will come off fairly easily if the paper is totally dry.
  8. Done!  You now have your aged paper.  I folded mine pretty much right away and put in the envelopes but you can do whatever you want with them now 🙂

Part one of the invitation done now its on to the ticket.  Arguably the most important piece as without it you cant board the train.  I was lucky enough to get a ticket when I visited the Wizarding World of Harry Potter last year.  I took this ticket to Kinko’s armed with gold shimmer paper and asked them to copy and cut the tickets.  Since the shimmer paper was scrapbook paper (IE 12×12 a weird size) it was an ordeal getting these babies printed and cut but it was totally worth it.  If you dont have access to a Hogwarts Express ticket there are plenty of printable online but if you have the option to go authentic, go authentic.

Last step in invitation prep was the Hogwarts crest seal.  I love wax seals, they are awesome and old school and fantastic.  I got this set from amazon.  It was ok, not the best but the seal worked great and the wax colors were pretty quality stuff.  It took some trial and error but what we ended up doing was cutting the wax into small little chunks, melting them with the provided candle in the provided spoon and dropping onto the envelope, quickly pressing the seal into the wax then voila!  Beautiful wax seal!!

The final touches were the address labels, return address labels, and stamps.  The labels I made in avery using clear labels I had leftover from my wedding (6 years ago, good thing I hung on to the extras).  Avery has some great templates and customization options.  For the stamps I tried to make my own by zazzle didnt like the image I wanted to use, some crazy copyright story 😉  I did find that USPS still makes Harry Potter stamps so of course thats what I got.  I didnt take any pictures of all that because hey Im not crazy Im not putting my address or other peoples on the internet!  Silly geese!

Im really happy with how they all turned out and even more happy with the reactions everyone has had to them.  🙂

Chimichurri Steaks with Sweet and Spicy Baked Sweet Potatoes (Foodie Friday #8)

Happy Friday everyone!!!  I am actually writing this post on Wednesday because Im getting my wisdom teeth pulled probably right about now-ish.  Yes I am almost 30 (ok mild panic attack typing that) and still have all 4 of my wisdom teeth.  They are coming in fine but starting to move my front teeth.  I have veneers put on my top front 4 teeth 2 years ago and there is NO WAY Im going to have them messed up.  So out the wisdom teeth must come 😦  Im a little sad to see them go but hey thats life they are just teeth.  Plus side though, the dentist office Im going to is super posh.  If you live in Spring, TX check on The Dentists on Rayford they are really nice and seriously nicest dentist office I have ever been to.

Ok so food.  Since I missed last week because of travel I have a double dose of recipe today!  We made this last week and its delicious plus great leftover.  The steak we got wasnt quite big enough and someone (Joe) didnt cut the potatoes small enough so the plate looks a little sparse but trust me its good and filling.  Both of these recipes come from the Bobby Deen Everyday Eats book and seriously yall EVERYTHING I have made out of it has been delicious.  You need to go get this book now, and his other book From Mama’s Table to Mine also a winner winner chicken dinner.

Chimichurri Steaks by Bobby Deen

Servings: 6        Prep Time: 10min        Cook Time: 10min      Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley leaves (dont use italian parsley it doesnt taste as good)
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp fresh oregano leaves  (or 1 tsp dried oregano but fresh is better)
  • 3 garlic cloves coarsely chopped
  • pinch of crushed red pepper
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 lb skirt steak cut into 6 equal pieces

Instructions

In a blender or small food processor, combine the parsley, oil, vinegar, oregano, garlic, and red pepper flakes, and blend to a coarse puree. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Rub half of the marinade on the small steaks and place the remainder in a small bowl.

Grease a grill grate with cooking spray, and preheat the grill to medium-high heat (steaks will marinate while the grill heats).

Grill the steaks for 3 to 5 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 120 * F on an insteant- read thermometer for medium-rate (or a few minutes longer, until the temperature reaches 130* F, for medium). Let the meat rest for about 5 minutes before serving it with the served bowl of chimichurri on the side.

Thinking Out Loud #3

Guys…I missed the gorgeous cool autumn morning today because SOMEONE (me) turned their alarm clock up and didnt even realize it.  I was so bummed!  I did go on a run before lunch but by that time it was hot and not as nice.

20150924_105257Now to thinking out loud (link here)Thinking-Out-Loud

  1. I ran in my old mizunos and remembered why I switched.  They are comfortable but I get crazy foot cramps in them, and they bother my shins.  They are really light though so Ill keep them in my rotation for hill training

    20150924_105327
  2. How could I not go running outside today, I mean look at that sky though! 20150924_105549 20150924_1056003. That time I found a random “explore” sculpture on my run and decided to try and self timer photo and it worked out ok.  If you are great at self timer photos, send your tips because seriously, I need some help!

4. Its getting down to the wire for the HP Party and I just keep thinking up more things I want to include.  My brain is super full now but Im sure its going to turn out fantastic.  Im going to post how I made the invitations next week since I think everyone has gotten theirs by now.  Spoiler alert…they were a big hit!

5.  I decided to get a girls trip together for December to see the Osborne Spectacle of Lights one last time.  Still working on the dates and everything but I need to see this gem of an attraction one last time.

6. My birthday is in 11 days!  I love birthdays they are fun celebrating someone’s life.  I think sometimes people get lost in the reason for celebrating things (like valentine’s day, silly holiday, we dont celebrate it) but birthdays are ALL ABOUT THAT PERSON!  Yay because if they didnt have a birthday they wouldnt be here!!!

8.  Someone in the office quit and I got to switch desks to a desk with a window!  I get super cold here so the fact that I get sunshine is stupid exciting.  Its the little things yall.

9.  Today is a day of not much on my mind…but whats on yours???

Happy Fall Yall!!  Temps are officially getting lower, it is now officially acceptable to eat all the pumpkin and fall clothes!!!  Its not quite sweater weather here yet though so Im going totally casual today.  Sometimes I just dont feel like being super fancy but need to wear more than a t-shirt and jeans.  Although if Im honest, I would be happy in a t-shirt and jeans everyday.  If you see me on the weekends, thats my go to outfit.

Top: Express (similar)

Cami: Express…nothing similar

Pants: Express…nothing similar…seriously Express, you should pay me for all this advertising I do

Earrings: Kendra Scott

Sandals: Sears I think???  They are old and I cant really remember lol

Ok so I know I wear a lot of Express and ModCloth.  I worked at Express a long time ago and found their jeans fit me the absolute best.  I have had a few pairs of jeans for 10 years and the most that has happened is they get a little faded (which happens over multiple washes).  The price is perfect for the quality you get.  Their camis are fantastic and I feel their clothes are pretty much on point.  There have been some seasons where I dont love the trends but overall Im able to find classic pieces that can be worn all the time.

As for ModCloth, hands down the best dresses I have found anywhere.  With the exception of 1 or 2 the dresses fit me very well.  Granted I do read the reviews and descriptions since you cant try them on and often you cant get an exchange so you really need to get the size right the first time.  Great quality, lovely prints and the customer service is very responsive.

CHIME IN!!!  Is there a store you love to shop at or is it equal opportunity for you?  What is your go to look?

Plano Balloon Festival Half Marathon 2015 Recap

Im back from Fort Worth with a race recap!!!  My first since blogging, so lets just dive right in.

Our family started a “family reunion” tradition where every September 20th-ish we rent a house somewhere on water and celebrate the 3 boy birthdays.  September 20th ish because my brother’s birthday is the middle birthday of the 3 boys.  Literally 3 weeks in a row are birthdays for Joe, Chris and Dad.  Rather than celebrate all 3 individually we get together and make a weekend out of it.  Yay for celebrations!  This year I had registered for the Plano Balloon Festival half marathon so we found a house on a lake as close as possible (still an hour away).  The house was great, right on the lake, big lot, pool, movie room, great backyard, and most of all was nice and quiet.20150918_184454

Saturday was the 5k which Grace had signed up for.  The weather was really overcast which I say is good for a race with a start time of 7:30 so you dont have to deal with the bright hot sun.  This was Grace’s first official race, she has run over 3 miles before but its different in a race.  She finished with a great time for her first race and got an awesome hot air balloon medal.  Let me tell you, I was choking up a little at her start I was really proud of her.  I didnt care we had to wake up at 5am and drive for an hour, I was happy to see her get out there and race.  Proud sister moment here people.20150920_072535

Getting ready to start

DSC_0040 Strong finish!!!

20150919_081259

She probably hates this picture, but seriously SO PROUD!

DSC_0046Obligatory post race photo!

After her race we stuck around the festival for a bit to see the balloons, enjoy the weather and get some free swag.  The balloons inflated but didnt go up that day because it started to rain.  The balloons cant get wet because they could mold and that is no bueno for a hot air balloon.  Still we got some fun pictures and enjoyed a chill day.

20150919_080158

See those crazy clouds rolling in…yeah those balloons were deflating REAL fast.

20150919_074515

Sunday was half marathon day.  Another 5am wake up time with a 7:30am start.  This day was set to be a beautiful sunny day.  While we were getting ready and lining up the festival announcer was saying there was no wind today which was good for balloons but in my head Im thinking bad because I love a good strong breeze on my face to cool down.

Deep thoughts, or Grace practicing with the camera 🙂

Pre-race selfie!

A new thing for this race was they had pacers.  My goal was to hang with the 2:20 group as long as I could with a goal finish time around 2:30.  Guys…I was SO not prepared for the hills on the course.  There were at least 3 good grade hills the first 5 miles with another 4 or so mild hills the rest of the way.  Being in flat Houston this was tough on me.  I hung with the 2:20 group though until mile 5 where those hills and the bright hot sun really hit me.  At the water stop of mile 5 another runner said to me “Its really humid today right”.  I had to tell her no, sorry Im from Houston this humidity is a dream.  At least this condition I was prepared for.

Another few miles and my left hip started to really hurt.  The hills and turns made something pinch and for the rest of the race my left hip was in constant pain.  I even stopped 3 times to stretch it out but alas it would not go away.  For the first 7 miles there was little or no shade and since the sun came up around 7:30, that was full sun the whole time.  Ugh me and the sun, we are not friends.  Around mile 6 the 2:30 group came up behind me but I knew I was not going to be able to keep their pace.  I had to walk a few times (ok more than a few) and every water stop I had one hand with water to drink and the other water to pour all over my head/neck/back/chest.  Luckily this paid off and I did not overheat.  I did feel a little under-hydrated and wish there would have been at least 2 more water stops on the course.

Mile 8 there was a Gogo Squeez station with apple pineapple applesauce packets plus water of course.  I grabbed an applesauce and water and the sugar really helped pep me up.  This is also the time the 2:40 pacers caught up with me.  I hung with them for a few miles and then had to walk and stretch the hip.  By this time I was close to mile 12 so I hunkered down, sucked it up and kept plugging along.  I finished with a 2:45:33 time.  At mile 5 I told myself I would be a little disappointed with a 2:50 time, happy with a 2:30 time and ecstatic with a 2:20 time.  At mile 10 I would have been happy with a 2:50 time.  Funny how our perspective changes as the race goes on lol.  This was also the first time I have ever said to myself I will never register for another race ever again.  Of course after the race I realized I really just need to work on hills more because that is what killed it for me.  I can bear the humidity, I can even deal with the heat but having almost no training with hills was really my detriment.

DSC_0154

The last .2 miles were downhill so I was really able to finish strong with what little I had left in the tank plus gravity.

DSC_0156

My splits:

5K Split: 10:35 min/mi

10K Split: 11:06 min/mi

15K Split: 11:58 min/mi

Finish: 12:38 min/mi

Overall it was a decent race.  I can see why people flock to do Disney races because they are well done with plenty of entertainment on the course, good post race snacks and spectators to cheer you on.  This race there was no entertainment (which was expected), very few spectators and you could only see the balloons for the first 3 miles then it was nothing.  The post race food though was pretty solid.  A local grocery store had scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, bananas, and bagels all included with your race admission.  Disney gives you a food box but that doesnt really compare with a great hot meal.  As far as balloon photos go, luckily Joe and Grace took some awesome balloon photography while I was running so I could see it through the lens.  Just like Im sharing with you now.

Things that went well:

  1. Kept Hydrated, which is key for a hot race
  2. Ran my race.  At first it was really important for me to keep up with some races, but half way through I decided to run my race and not worry about others.
  3. I did actually PR, even if it wasnt the time I had hoped for its still a PR and still something for me to be proud of.  This time is more than 15 minutes faster than my previous best time.
  4. The gauze trick on my left foot worked!!!  No pain in my left foot the WHOLE TIME!!!!
  5. Oh and the BLING!  This medal was on par with a Disney medal, not as heavy but still pretty awesome.DSC_0158 20150920_101900

Things that didnt go so well:

  1. The hills got to me because I thought they wouldnt be an issue.  Silly Rachael 🙂
  2. My left hip hurting constantly and not being able to make it stop which means I need to stay focused on stretching
  3. The blister protector for my right foot caused a major blister so note to self, stick with gauze.

After the race I took my standard detox bath and did lots of stretching.  I still am a little tired today so I decided to take today off from running but will back at it Thursday and possibly Saturday (Im getting my wisdom teeth out friday so saturday is TBD).

CHIME IN!!!  What did you do this weekend?  Have anything fun planned for this week?

Thinking Out Loud #2

I was stuck 1 mile away from my house today for an hour and a half.  Thats right people, I would WALK home faster than I was moving in my car.  I was so frustrated and couldnt find a way to get to work I just went home.  Luckily my job is not a life or death job.

Last night was stretch time and I had some great supervisors.  They made sure i didnt forget a stretch…ok so maybe they didnt do that but they did keep me company 🙂

20150916_201347Since I am so tight i have quite a few pieces of equipment to stretch things out.  Yoga block, resistance bands, foam roller and massager.  All of these are from Amazon…literally they are all from Amazon.  I was just thinking in my head that cant be right but no it is lol.  Oh Amazon you complete me.

20150916_201329My run this morning felt pretty good since I didnt have any sore muscles and i spent about 45 minutes stretching last night.  My pace was a little slower than I wanted but my race being this weekend I decided to push a little but not too much.

20150917_061117Of course i had to hydrate with my happy place cup because it was pretty dang muggy outside.  I dont know if you can see from the picture above but I am covered in moisture and not just sweat.  gross.

20150917_061143 Screenshot_2015-09-17-06-15-50

So that was my run…not on to Thinking out Loud!!!

Thinking-Out-Loud more info here

1.  Speaking of stretching…this is one i do all the time before and after a run but it took me a really long time to be able to lay all the way down.  Sometimes when Im not so tight I can pick up the other leg too…but Im too tight right now.

20150917_062344

2. I had a pretty awesome day dream yesterday that if my life was different I would move to Florence and live there.  It was a pretty awesome daydream…until the analytical part of my brain took over and started thinking about the horrible logistics.  Whatever analytical side, Florence would be awesome.

DSC_0701

3.  Speaking of Florence I have been using Duolingo for a while to try and learn Italian and French.  Duolingo says I am 12% fluent in Italian so hey I could marginally get by if i did move to Florence!

4. I started watching Outlander and I am LOVING it.  I guess because i love Brave and that time period but its a really well done show if you have Starz you should check it out.  definitely worth the time investment.

outlander-the-story-continues-key-art

5.  My half marathon is this weekend and i have mixed feelings about it.  forecast is not as cool as i wish it would be, but its my first non-Disney half marathon and so my first chance to get a real PR.  Ill give a recap next week and we can see how i did 🙂

6.  I hate cleaning, can someone come clean my house and not charge me but do it like I did pay you? K thanks

cleaning-meme27.  Dang i just remembered i need to make cookie dough for the dog sitter this weekend.  Im going to use my brown butter chocolate chip cookie recipe because its brown butter.  Think I should share the recipe?

8.  I just bought a new hair dryer today, it should be here next week.  Silly but Im pretty excited about it.  Im curious if the brazillian blow out i got last weekend will look better with a hairdryer that cost more than $15.  never saw the need to invest in one until now.  Ill let you know how it goes:)

9.  Anyone going to Disneyland Paris Half marathon next year?  They just released some details about it and bookings start in about 3 weeks.  I am totally doing it but not sure if Im going to do a vacation package or wait for the general bibs.  I just know I HAVE to do that race next year…Im turning the big 3-0 the week after the race so it seems only fitting.

Thanks it for me, i was full of random thoughts today!

CHIME IN!!!  whats on your mind, have a great blow dryer you use?  Are you on duolingo, find me Im WhosTARDIS.

WIWW #8

I have made the decision to not go workout today.  Wednesday classes have been pretty challenging and with my race this weekend I just dont want to take a chance to having super sore muscles.  I am working on stretching out basically everything from now until race day.  Since my doctor basically told me Im a big pile of tight muscle mess, I really need to focus on loosening up.

Truth, Im not really sad about it.  These last few weeks I have been feeling burnt out from the gym and working out in general.  I think its frustration that certain areas of my body are seeing zero improvement.  I need to take a minute, refocus my energy and Ill be back at it probably next week.

On a totally different note it has been FREEZING in my office lately.  Usually when I wear today’s dress I dont wear tights.  Today I opted for tights because of said freezing office.  I still cant feel my fingers but at least my legs are warm 🙂

CHIME IN!!!  How are you feeling about the gym lately?  Do you have motivation to workout after work?  How is your wednesday going?

Just Another day at the Office

Doctors office that is.  This is how I spent my morning after my run…getting xrays.  Boo!!

When we went to Disneyland I dont know what happened but my back hurt so bad I could barely walk.  Since then it has been hurting on and off for a month.  I finally decided to go see my sports medicine doctor about it.  Luckily nothing is wrong with the bones she thinks its just a weak back and core plus really tight IT bands.  No surprise there really.  I have to adjust my week day gym workouts now though.  I am going to switch it up and go to the core class so I can work on that area more since most of my other muscles are building nicely.  Dont forget about your core people or pay the price!!!  I do love my doctor’s office though.  They treat a lot of Iron Men/Women and have a wonderful physical therapy facility on site.  If Im going to get treated for sports injuries might as well go to the best!

Also in order is more IT band foam rolling which I have been neglecting but didnt think it would effect my back.  If you think that too then you are dead wrong my friends!!!  Just remember, everything is connected.  If you ignore one area of your body another will flare up and act a fool.  Let my hard lessons help you 🙂  I can see why all those workout videos say consult a physician before starting a new physical routine, because crap like this happens.  My doctor did tell me she really doesnt recommend doing back to back races (like 1 day after another) because it puts too much strain on your body.  I have to say I agree with her and probably will try and stay away from challenges like that (aside from what I have already signed up for).  The older I get the longer it takes my body to bounce back.

I did run this morning but only did 1.5 miles because someone (Oreo) had an upset stomach and I was not about to push him when he wasnt feeling his best.  Funny how I will stop running if for one second my dog shows signs of bad feelings but me I just push right through it.  People are silly, being a dog is better.

After I had a few meetings today it was off to lunch for some brisket tacos and chili con queso.  I am so tired right now because of all the heavy food but I just am too tired to care.

Tonight we are going to Mellow Mushroom for dinner with the fam to celebrate Joe’s birthday.  Thats a pizza place I have never been to before so Ill let you know how it goes.  I love pizza but hard as it is to believe there is bad pizza in this world.  Here’s hoping this is not one of those times.

CHIME IN!!!  How is your training going?  Not training for anything, got any good places to eat around you?
