Just Another day at the Office

Doctors office that is.  This is how I spent my morning after my run…getting xrays.  Boo!!

When we went to Disneyland I dont know what happened but my back hurt so bad I could barely walk.  Since then it has been hurting on and off for a month.  I finally decided to go see my sports medicine doctor about it.  Luckily nothing is wrong with the bones she thinks its just a weak back and core plus really tight IT bands.  No surprise there really.  I have to adjust my week day gym workouts now though.  I am going to switch it up and go to the core class so I can work on that area more since most of my other muscles are building nicely.  Dont forget about your core people or pay the price!!!  I do love my doctor’s office though.  They treat a lot of Iron Men/Women and have a wonderful physical therapy facility on site.  If Im going to get treated for sports injuries might as well go to the best!

Also in order is more IT band foam rolling which I have been neglecting but didnt think it would effect my back.  If you think that too then you are dead wrong my friends!!!  Just remember, everything is connected.  If you ignore one area of your body another will flare up and act a fool.  Let my hard lessons help you 🙂  I can see why all those workout videos say consult a physician before starting a new physical routine, because crap like this happens.  My doctor did tell me she really doesnt recommend doing back to back races (like 1 day after another) because it puts too much strain on your body.  I have to say I agree with her and probably will try and stay away from challenges like that (aside from what I have already signed up for).  The older I get the longer it takes my body to bounce back.

I did run this morning but only did 1.5 miles because someone (Oreo) had an upset stomach and I was not about to push him when he wasnt feeling his best.  Funny how I will stop running if for one second my dog shows signs of bad feelings but me I just push right through it.  People are silly, being a dog is better.

After I had a few meetings today it was off to lunch for some brisket tacos and chili con queso.  I am so tired right now because of all the heavy food but I just am too tired to care.

Tonight we are going to Mellow Mushroom for dinner with the fam to celebrate Joe’s birthday.  Thats a pizza place I have never been to before so Ill let you know how it goes.  I love pizza but hard as it is to believe there is bad pizza in this world.  Here’s hoping this is not one of those times.
