Workout Recap 5/3-9

New week new workouts…well probably not new but they rotate enough they feel new.  I was in Corpus Christi most of the week so the treadmill and I had a nice little relationship 🙂

Tuesday:  Speed work today!  I’ve never done this one before and it was a little strange.  10 minute warm-up with 4 x 30 second pick-ups at 7:56 pace with 30 second rest intervals then 4.5 x 2 minute pick-ups at 8:00 pace with 2 minute rest intervals then ended with a 10 minute cool down.  My heartrate got crazy high on the 4th interval which is why I only did 1/2 an interval the last time.  My legs felt good but my heartrate and breath did not feel the same.  10 minutes foam rolling (the hotel has a foam roller!!!!!) and stretching right after.

Wednesday:  Rest day!!!  After a speed workout I always look forward to a rest day.  10 minutes stretching / yoga poses that night.

Thursday:  Another day of speed work but this time not as intense.  Warm up 15 minutes of easy running. 4x 3min @ T-pace (8:56) with 1 minute easy pace rest intervals. Coll down with 10 minutes of easy running.  The last interval was rough but I made it through and felt pretty good.  Legs felt great actually its just the breathing for me that gets rough on the treadmill for some odd reason.  15 minutes stretching / foam rolling / yoga that night.

Friday:  Rest day!  Stay off the feet as much as possible, I was going to stretch tonight but I just didn’t feel like it so I didn’t.

Saturday:  7 mile run today and what a gorgeous day it was.  Probably one of the last of the season.  Ran 4 miles with the group and added 3 more on.  Ended with a 11:00 average pace took a gel at mile 4 and drank water with citrus fruit nuun.  I didn’t like it at first when when the nuun is cold its better for me.  Still working out the hydration before summer hits.

Sunday:  I was supposed to do 3 miles today but…ummmm…I may have been a little hungover from last nights game night and had mothers day to cook for.  I was going to go later in the day but just wasn’t feeling up to it.  Rest day it is then!  Margarita shot, because I can 😀


Monday:  Rest day from running but I decided to get back into the gym and do some core work.  I still am feeling off (terrible night sleep last night) but I need to get back at it.  30 minute core class that pretty much kicked my butt from the word go.  It has been about 2 months since I’ve been though so have to rebuild all that fitness.  10 minute stretching / foam rolling / yoga that night.
