Hello from the road. Back to back travels again this workout recap and again from San Antonio. This thank goodness was a recovery week so less intense workouts. Let me tell you I need it the last 2 weeks have had some pretty challenging workouts. Let’s talk recovery week!
Tuesday: I love recovery weeks! 35 minutes today for 3.2 miles at a 10:50 pace. Nothing fancy just regular old treadmill running. This hotel gym doesnt have a foam roller 😦 but they do have cold towels! This is a new one for me but much appreciated! Now to just get a foam roller and all will be well with the world. 10 minutes standard post-workout stretching but nothing extra that night.
Thursday: Recovery run, 45 minutes at 11:09 pace ended with 4 miles. Pretty boring and uneventful run. I did not want to get out of bed today but I knew I was going to be spending a lot of time sitting at the airport and in the car so I got my miles in. 15 minutes stretching / foam rolling / yoga poses that night. My body is ACHING right now.
Friday: Rest day! From working out anyway. Im only home for 2 days then its off again for a work trip. So while there is no running today I still had some things I needed to get done 😛 15 minutes stretching / foam rolling / yoga poses that night.
Saturday: today was a normal long run, except I tried a larabar as pre run fuel and had to cut the run short to hit the restroom…whoops! No more morning larabars lol. Ended with 5.7 miles at a 11:13 pace. Oh and it was freaking hot so I wasn’t super sad to end the run early
Monday: Rest day! Although my coach put a workout for today in but must have been late last night because I didn’t see it when I checked at 10pm. I moved that workout to tomorrow since I won’t have time anymore today. Work travels make it almost impossible to get an evening workout in. It’s OK I had some logistics to deal with this morning so it all worked out fine in the end.
