Keto and Me

This week I started the Keto diet in support of my husband.  Back in November Joe decided to try Keto based on the success of some of his friends and he has seen some great results from it.  Now I’m all for a weight loss strategy but this is a no-carb diet and I was in the throws of half marathon training.  At the time it didnt make sense for me but this past week I figured I would give it a try with him.  Fast forward to the end of this week, a miserable horrible week, 4 pounds more later, and I am OVER this keto diet.  Some people will say I didn’t give it enough time, but to those people I say…I know my body and I know what’s going to work and what’s not.  A high fat diet is NOT for me and that’s ok.  I’m extremely happy its working for Joe, but its just not the diet for me.  I’m back to monitoring my macros on MyFitnessPal and also…I’M BACK TO RUNNING!

I know its big news, running and I are back together.  Just in time too because we got some more cold weather here in Houston and I am going to soak it all in while I can.  Luckily my friend Courtney is an early riser as well and we have been running together.  We aren’t the same pace but knowing someone is waiting for my butt to get up and go run is definitely a strong motivator for me.  Thanks Courtney!

Joe and I also designed a new skirt for the shop, an Ariel/Little Mermaid skirt.  I like how it came out but I think my original idea would have been more fun.  The client decided on this design though so that’s what me made.  What do you think?!

I also had to go to the dentist AGAIN this week.  Its a whole saga but today was a temporary crown.  Next month I’ll get the permanent crown put on, oh and its my front tooth!  I hate dealing with teeth, it always hurts, I get anxiety and its so expensive.  I love my dentist (Dentist on Rayford for all you locals) but I hate getting work done.  I mean really, how many people actually like the dentist though?!

The week wasn’t all bad, it ended on a nice high note.  My dad got married on Saturday so Friday-Sunday we spent most of our time with family celebrating my dad and his new wife.  It’s always nice to spend time with my uncles since they live out of state and aren’t able to visit very often.  We always have a great time and this weekend was no exception.  While I didn’t snap many photos, its ok because I would much rather be in the moment!

CHIME IN!!!  What do you think of the Ariel skirt?  Are you a fan of going to the dentist?  How was your week?
